Since 2017, Beyoncé's BeyGood4Burundi and UNICEF have been working together to bring safe water and sanitation to the most vulnerable districts in the small, landlocked East African country of Burundi. In Burundi, nearly half the population has no access to safe water.
This is a crisis for children, who are dying of waterborne diseases — and the crisis is especially damaging to girls.
Access to clean, safe water means girls won’t be forced to walk long, often dangerous, distances where they are at risk of attack. When girls don’t have to walk for hours every day to collect safe water, they can go to school. When that school has clean toilets, they don’t have to skip class when they have their period. For girls, access to safe water is the foundation for equality.
With your help, nearly half a million people will gain access to safe water — and children can be free to have the healthy childhoods they deserve.
Funds donated provide the children of Burundi:
