Help Children Affected by Violence in Iraq

Years of conflict in Iraq has driven millions from their homes. Three million remain displaced, including 1.4 million children. Nearly 9 million children in Iraq require humanitarian aid.

An estimated 5 million are in critical need of safe water. Schools and hospitals have been destroyed and damaged. Nearly half of all displaced school-age children- 335,000 children - are out of school.

Children also risk separation from their parents, injury from improvised explosive devices, and exploitation and child trafficking.

UNICEF is providing Iraqi children with safe spaces and lifesaving aid, including clean, safe water and sanitation, food, medical kits and vaccinations, and special care for pregnant women and lactating mothers. UNICEF staff also help children reunite with family members, obtain psychosocial support and gain access to education.
